What software do you own/use to do your work?

I pay a monthly subscription for the Microsoft products. I use a free service for antivirus (Bitdefender). For graphic/picture type stuff I like Paint.net. I use Zotero for referencing work. Gmail for email. Chrome for web browsing. Tugzip for extracting files. iCopy for scanning.

As you can see I prefer free stuff when possible. I pay for the Microsoft subscription because I want it to always be up to date. I figure I have very few expenses so it is worth it.

I also have Microsoft. I like it. I think that no matter how much you have to pay for it, it's worth it. There are a lot of really awesome things that you can do with it.

Whew. Lemme go down my list here.

Antivirus:

Windows Defender
CC Cleaner
Spybot
Malwarebytes

Working:
Microsoft Office
Open Office (has features Microsoft doesn't have I like)
Dropbox
Skype
Discord

Most of them are free. I paid a one time payment for the Microsoft office, but everything else is pretty much free. Even Dropbox's services

A funny story about Skype. I once applied for an online job and they wanted to do an interview with me over Skype. I either didn't want to or didn't know how (can't remember), but I told them that I didn't use Skype. Looking back on it now, that was kind of lame, but at the time I felt like there was no need. I'd worked online for nearly ten years without anyone every having to videoconference me! I don't mind the telephone, but not crazy about the whole seeing the person I am talking to on the phone. Maybe that makes me a dinosaur in an age of Facetime and the like, I don't know.
