How clean is your desk?
When I worked in a regular office environment, my desk was usually clean. Whether that was because I knew that there were eyes other than my own on my workspace, or because I had more time on my hands (working for yourself is surprisingly more busy than working in an office - at least in my experience) I don't know. What I do know is that I miss my old, clean, workspace. It doesn't help that my desk doubles as a spot for the kids to watch Netflix. And leave behind toys, food, etc.
Anyway, just how clean is your home office desk? Do you make a point of tidying regularly, does it just stay clean - is your office solely for your work or does it double as a family entertainment spot as mine does?
P.S. - I googled a bit and here are 5 tips for keeping a home office tidy.
1. Have a trash can within reach (well, duh)
2. Have an inbox for incoming paper
3. Use folders to organize your work (but...as I look at my desk, the clutter is not work-related)
4. Become a minimalist (on that topic, I am listening to Marie Kondo's "The Life-Changing Magic of Tidying Up")
5. Use drawers (of which I have none. Maybe that's my problem)

Mine is actually very neat I try to set aside time each day to keep it up. I don't have kids though or distractions of that sort.

I use my desk as a family entertainment spot too.
It's not tidy.
Others would see my desk as a mess but I like to call it an organised mess. I know exactly where to find everything I could possibly need regardless of how unorganised it looks to other people. Sort of like my own little puzzle which only I can decipher.

Exactly the same as mine, an organized mess. The only time I generally can't find things is when I or someone else has tidied.

My desk is pretty clean. I don't like to keep anything dirty, I just can't stand it. So, no matter what I always make sure that it is clean by the end of the day.

Re: How clean is your desk?
Ontop? Fairly clean. I keep a stack of papers on one side. Another stack of things that need to go out. My computer in the center, with nothing in the way save maybe an energy drink can or two, or a cup of coffee.
Inside is a whole other matter.. All my drawers are filled to the brim with junk and crap. Old CD's I dont ever listen to. Wires and wires and papers upon papers. stacks of doodles. countless pennies. It's all a mess inside even if the outside looks decent. Guess that's a metaphor for me lol.

Oh... I don't have any drawers just a table top desk. Drawers would just create clutter for me I think.

I keep mine very organized. I have a large collection of pens so it can get crazy if I don't. Plus I like to keep my drawers organized so I don't lose important things.
