What does your day look like Empty What does your day look like

Post by sandra Mon Jan 16, 2017 3:50 pm

What line of work do you work in and what does your day look like?

I currently work as a freelance writer but I hope to start up my own company from home in the coming few months as a weight consultant.

My day would look like this:

When I wake up i get dressed, brush my hair and teeth, walk my two dogs and eat some breakfast.
After that I either start on a little bit of work or play some games.
I then do some research for my blog and/or write a piece for my blog.
In the evening I tend to hang out with my fiancé.
At night I work some more and continue on my study.

I work as a writer and an editor. I try to work Monday to Friday, from 9:00 until 3:30 while my kids are at school.

Embarrassingly enough, my schedule looks like this:

Wake up. Frantically assemble kid's lunches for 15 minutes. Frantically dress and feed children for 15 minutes. Take kids to the bus. Eat breakfast. Work - lately I have been fitting in exercise around midday. I tend to edit in the morning when my brain is fresh, then write in the afternoon because it is more creative and less tedious. Then I pick up the kids off the bus, and the merry-go-round continues until the last one falls asleep at 11 pm. And starts all over again the next day.

Good for you for taking the time to exercise.  I assume since you work at home you "work out" at home?  Do you have a home gym?  I find that I need more motivation than equipment.  I did recently purchase a BowFlex Max though.  Maybe it was the infomercial that I watched about how I only needed 14 minutes a day to have a good workout regardless it seems like a good investment so far as the 14 minutes of interval training does seem to tax me pretty good.

I have a pair of 10 pound weights, that's it for now. The videos I do use mostly bodyweight exercises. Plus we have a treadmill.

I like to do hot yoga. Have you ever tried it?

I have never tried hot yoga or yoga at all.  I would really like to give it a try as I am not very flexible and I feel it would help with that.  I'm just intimidated with the whole thing.

Hot yoga is good because your body is more limber, but I found it too hot myself. You end up sweating a lot so need to have a good towel and perhaps even gloves so your hands don't slip. If you are a person who tends to sweat a lot I might avoid it. I think there is cool yoga too?

As far as being intimidated, I think that depends on the venue. The class I went to tended to be a group that met regularly so I felt a bit like an outsider. I would suggest going with a friend so you feel less like the odd person out.

I usually get up and start working. I want to get right into it. I don't like to sit around for a couple hours before doing anything. Then it just makes me feel like I haven't had a productive day.

This is basically my day:

1 - wake up around 10am. Brew some coffee. Take a quick shower.

2 - Get coffee, toast, and wake up a bit more.

3 - Sit at computer. Spend an hour going through e-mails, checking bank balance, write a list of things needing to do that way.

4 - Load up work, spend 10 minutes looking at funny pictures to prepare myself.

5 - Work for around 4-5 hours. Break for lunch/dinner

6 - Finish what work I need to finish, or set up work for tomorrow evening.

7 - Finish, cook a nice meal, watch a documentary, indulge in a hobby, play games, etc.

8 - Sleep. Repeat.

Coffee. I think that is what is missing from my morning routine. I have never acquired a taste for it or really any other morning drink. Anyone have suggestions on how to like coffee?
